CHENNAI: When it comes to ordering food online, saving money is the top priority for Indians. A recent survey by food portal TastyKhana reveals that a consumer saves from 20% to 50% per order while they order food online. Also, the percentage of people ordering food online and through their mobile devices is 20% and this is further set to rise.
Moreover, 8% of consumers place orders for healthier options such as sandwiches. Another factor that is keeping online food ordering going is that many people are now able to order late lunches or evening snacks.
The survey also revealed that on an average, customers made savings of 17.5% when they ordered food online as they saved on service charges and restaurant tips among others.
